A counterbore is a multi-blade cutting device for processing of conical and cylindrical cavities to increase their diameter, and to increase their quality and finish accuracy. Operations, implemented with the use of a counterbore, are called counterboring. Counterbores may be made with oversize and with accuracy degree. Counterbores find application in such fields as plumbing, electrical engineering, manufacture of heating devices, aircraft industry, and car maintenance. One of the subtypes of counterbores is the reamer counterbore. Reamer counterbores are tools for final processing of cavities after drilling, boring or counterboring. High quality of processing is explained by a great number of cutting teeth of counterbores (4 – 14), which allows removal of a very thin layer of the material.
